Osteopathy on the Move

This is the third session of Osteopathy On The Move with Jill Bodak and Claire Turner Reid. It will be our last offering before a break for the summer. In our final three hour movement workshop of the season we will continue to work on bringing the underlying joint patterns used in Osteopathic therapy appointments to life through movement experiments and body mapping. We practice different ways of feeling how our bodies were designed to move and then find ways to practice those movements together using familiar shapes- like walking, rolling, twisting and swinging. We talk about mainstream movement practices and the ways they may or may not support our overall moving wellness.

This session will bring a big focus to the central pivot of our bodies and the way that it coordinates how our arms and legs swing in walking, running, jumping and getting up and down from the floor. Hip health, shoulder health, breathing, neck tension and how a spine works will all be included in this exploration! Ideal for people curious about longevity of movement, aging well, recovering from injury, increasing mobility or decreasing pain. ALSO a great idea if you’re having trouble getting regular appointments with your very busy Osteopath! We’ll spend three hours learning, moving and playing together, covering a variety of concepts and strategies. It will feel good, but also be useful and fun.

New and returning students enthusiastically welcome!
